Tropea twinned with Zvenigorod

With the idea of increasing turism and commerce the calabrian town of Tropea in Italy is now twinned with the city of Zvenigorod in the province of Moscow, Russia.

Also present was CGM developer Ing. Pino Macri (Parco Tropea , an InCalabria exclusive), on the right in the picture below.

Calabria has a long way to go to increase Russian tourism, just over 4000 russians visited the region in 2011 compared to 25000 in Sicily.

One of the intentions of the russian delegation is to move a number of yachts from Montenegro to the harbour of Tropea.

The Italian delegation stressed their intention to work on direct flights from Lamezia Terme to Moscow and St. Petersburg on a year round basis.
